Celebrating Fr. Marc Rougeau’s Forty Years of Ordination

17 May 2017

On Wednesday, May 17 Don Bosco Hall invited special friends to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of Fr. Marc Rougeau’s ordination. Fr. Marc was ordained to the priesthood with the late Fr.Wes Izler at St. Hilary Church in Pico Rivera on Monday 14, 1977.The ordaining bishop was Most Reverend Thaddeus Shubsda, a recently appointed auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles serving in the Santa Barbhara region until his appointment as the first bishop of first Monterey in 1982.

The community tried to give Marc a surprise since he does like to get his hands into the mix when it comes to hosting or serving others. With the stealth of Fr. Joe Boenzi sneaking him out for lunch on that day, Fr. Tom Juare with the two novices, Damien Ho and Quang Nguyen, helped John Roche and Chris Silvia set up the dining room and living room to prepare the feast. Debbie Pacciorini served a wonderful veal supper and the meal was topped off with a fudge choclate cake from Virginia Bakery.

Yes, there will be a Province Celebration of its Jubilarians in September, but this was one small way the Don Bosco Hall Community could wish Marc well and , at the same time, thank him for the great contribution to life here on the hill. Come by sometime for some fresh fruit.
